Shooter, directed by Antoine Fuqua, was a film about an ex-marine set up by the government and he is now trying to reveal the truth behind the govrnments throne of LIES. Swagger (main character)was the best sniper in the marines. After a tragic experience happens on the field, he dissapears and no one knows where he is for three year. Once three years roll by he is asked to plan out the assasination of the president of the united states. The justification is so that by knowing his plan, they will know how to prevent the assasination. The government double crosses him and he runs away in hopes of revealing the shady government activities.
One of the techniques used in this film was the bad guy (Danny Glover) was ALWAYS sitting down. I didn’t trip off of this till the very end. In the beginning, when he’s suppose to be the good guy, he’s sitting down. Another hint that was given throughout the movie that he was a bad guy was that, for a majority of the time, he was a smoking a cigar in dark lighting. Smoke plus dark lighting is a reference to the devil. The devil is evil, thus telling you that Danny Glover is a bad guy.
The movie also did something that babershop 2 has also done. Throughout the movie, Swagger is always standing up when he comes into confrontation with the “bad guys.” Showing that he is empowered even though the bad guy always seems to have the upper hand. In the movie, he obviously gets away for his crime. The judge even says “I cant do anything about it.” But the movie goes on for another half hour. How does the director sopmehow keep the watchers attention when Danny Glover has obviously gotten away with the crime and Swagger has failed? Because of the fact that Danny Glover is always sitting down and Swagger is always standing up (just like in barbershop) you know Swagger is going to get him in the end.
If critiqued please please please critque what I actually said, not my spelling.

soooo…your post was a little short! but im not complaining cuz its less for me to read. i thought your analysis was good and definitely a lot better than the last one. you obviously put more effort into this one. it was cool how you noticed the key things that pointed out the bad guy but i was a little confused in the 3rd paragraph when you talked about the ending.

YOUR SPELLING SUCKS!!!
This post is cool. I like the way you referenced Barbershop 2 and how you noticed the way Antoine Fucqua used the same technique that the director in Bshop 2 did.
However, that is something I pointed out. I am looking for more independent thought but I can’t give any examples (lucky, punk) because I haven’t seen the movie. I do like Fuqua though. He has a way of putting social justice messages into his action movies and I was hoping you might have noticed one (if one does exist). It would have gave me a reason to rent this flick.

your post was definitely a lot better, good improvement!! i really like how you noticed how danny glover was the bad guy because he was always sitting down. oh and a tip, directors do this all the time, like the whole bad guy sitting down and the good guy overtowering him. it’s kind of a morals thing, showing that good is always above evil in ethics, even though the bad guy gets away with the crime in the end. haha nice capitalization to point out key words you want us to notice

haha well this time your post is better and one of the reason is because of your spelling and grammar! I didn’t see this movie so I can’t beg to differ. All I can say is good job in noticing the bad guy sitting down and good guy standing up showing that good guy(s) are always better than bad guys even though it may not seem that way.

alrite well its kind of short but whatever, uh nice on noticing that the bad guy is always sitting down, and that you know hes bad because of lighting and smoke and how you tie it into the devil. try and use more about camera angles to next time but good post still, that was a good movie.
